Accomplishments in 2009.

A
tree grant
was obtained and over 40 new trees were planted in memory or in honor of
loved ones.
- A
new brick
walkway was constructed from the walking trail to the much loved Ward
Anderson playground.
- Fundraising was begun for musical equipment for the playground.
- A brick pad has been constructed around the kiosk and flagpole with engraved bricks
purchased by people desiring a personal connection to the park. Bricks
still available for ordering. *
- The Amphitheatre was completed and the seating area was laid with sod.
- The Annual 4th of July at the Park included a twilight concert at the amphitheatre and fireworks ended the day’s celebration.
- Landscaping was completed around the seating area near the playground and the entrance to the pavilion.
- Bell Buckle Park applied for recognition as a Class 1 Arboretum.
- The 2nd annual Best of Butts BBQ Cook Off was held at the Captain Rodney area on September 5th, sponsored by George Dickel.
- For the first time ever, the park announced the hosting of a
Wheelchair Basketball Tournament to be held January 16, 2010 at the Webb School Barton Gymnasium. Funds from the tournament will go to towards construction of a half size outside basketball court at the Bell Buckle Park.
